Frequently asked questions
How do I know this will fit my can?
First, check the width of the opening on your can. If the outer diameter is about 1.7 - 1.75", our universal kits will most likely fit! We also have this handy Fit Chart if you know the brand of your can.
Are there any cans that will not work with our universal kits?
Yes, there are some cans that cannot accommodate our universal replacement kits. Brand that require an adapter are Chilton, Craftsman, No Spill, and EasyCan. Email us for information about an adapter. Also, some metal cans, Jerry cans may need an adapter. Last, FuelWorx and old Gott orange water cans will not accept our kits.
Is the Blitz Replacement universal?
This kit is NOT universal! It is specifically engineered to replace a specific model of Blitz brand cans, known as "self-venting". If you look on your original Blitz self-venting spout, you should see one of these numbers: 900092 900094 900302. This kit will replace those spouts.
If you DO NOT have these numbers, please purchase any of the universal kit swhich will work with other models of Blitz cans.
When will I get my order?
We will work quickly to ship your order as soon as possible. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with further information. Delivery times vary depending on your location.
What is your return policy?
We allow 30 days from the day of delivery of your order to request a return. First, email us at support@gasspout.com and let us know your order number and the reason you wish to return. Then we will reply with your return merchandise authorization number and the return instructions.
Where are your products manufactured?
We source our kits from several manufacturers, some of those are located in US, Turkey, China, and India.
How do I install the included vent?
FOR 1/2" VENTS ONLY! (Not Bargain Bundle)
1. Make sure the container is EMPTY.
2. Find a flat spot above the fill line at the top rear of the container.
3. We suggest using our T-Handle Reamer. Or use a 1/8" drill bit to start the hole. If you do not have a step or paddle bit.
4. Then use a 1/2" bit to drill a clean straight hole. *
5. Scrape remaining plastic waste off.
6. Hold Vent cap in place & pop in gently with a rubber mallet.
7. Clean out shavings from inside of container prior to usage.
* The Bargain Bundle's vent is smaller and comes with the proper size drill bit for that vent.
Why are there two base caps (collars)?
In most cases you will simply need to use the can's original cap and just replace the spout itself. We provide two different thread patterns to accommodate as many cans as possible. The black cap has fine threads and generally fit the old Rubbermaid, Briggs and Stratton, Essence and Gott cans, the yellow cap has coarse threads and fits the Blitz, Scepter, and Plastic Eagle.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated based on your location and the items in your order. You will always know the shipping price before you purchase.
My new spout is leaking, what is the problem?
Try using the new spout and your original base cap as this will work in most applications. There were many molds over the years and the tolerances varied greatly and this is why we include additional base caps.
Check to be sure the gasket at the base of the spout has not become twisted or dislodged.
DO NOT let the weight of the can rest on the spout! This can cause leaks, stress fractures, or breaks.
